Project Description

The development is located in Reading off A33, with close access to M4 motorway. The existing building is a 360,000 sq. ft purpose-built building, Reading International Business Park is striking and recognisable. With a core crescent-shaped office, extending in six wings from the curved front section. The usable space is arranged over 4 storeys, with a full height glazed atrium pathway connecting all of the office wings. The existing building is being used as an office for many users both local and international.

Redbridge have been appointed to carry out the following works:

Isolate areas to be soft stripped from areas that remain occupied.
Install temporary Fire Alarm Systems.
Strip out ceilings, floor coverings, walls, doors and glazes screens, services, fixtures, and fittings (Where identified on specifications and drawings). Following the drawings to ensure retained items areprotected and marked up services on-site.
Remove Tenants FCUs and associated pipework.
Demolish Toilet blocks.

Scope of work

Challenges Faced:
Having to strip out building while still maintaining the existing fire alarm system and other live services.
Personnel still present in other areas of the business centre.
Logistics with the storage and removal of waste.

The careful strip-out and coordination using drawings, and the building management system.
